If you do any sort of online marketing, you need to create an email list.
It doesn’t matter if your business is online or offline being able to control when, and how, you contact your community is incredibly valuable.
I’m assuming you’ve got a website, if not check out my guide on How To Create A Website.
I was on Mailchimp for years, and it is an amazing service. But I just don’t have the time or energy to deal with it. Not bashing Mailchimp at all it just offers way more than I need as a one man shop.
I like simple and easy to use.
Which is why I moved my subscribers to Substack and is now the service I use for keeping in touch with my subscribers. Substack is technically is a newsletter company, but is so much more, or less, depending on how you think about it.
Always Use A Redirect
I used to embed the link to my subscribe page in my posts. At first it was a form on Mailchimp, then I switched to a landing page on Mailchimp.
All my links were broken. I had to manually update every one of them I could find. Huge pain in the ass.
And then it occurred to me: use a redirect to point to my email list subscription page.
